GANGSTA EDITORIAL: MIAMI FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER

COME AND GET ME COPPER!

COME AND GET ME COPPER!

I had a unique opportunity on an editorial shoot at Al Capone’s home in Miami Beach. Being a professional photographer, I've had the opportunity to shoot some pretty incredible houses (check out this one). From my understanding, Capone originally purchased the home for $40,000 in 1922 (www.money.cnn.com). If the home was for sale today, it would sell for over $8,000,000.  It seems somewhat ironic as the taxes per year, by my guess, would cost about what the home originally sold for.  Pretty good deal for the city of Miami Beach, Florida.

It was a laid back shoot with a fantastic team at a cool location.  The home had a giant pool.  Actually, the pool at the house is larger than the city will allow someone to build today, but “grandfathered” in - just like Capone’s legacy.

The property was right on the ocean and boat tours were passing by all day long.  People were taking photos of us outside taking photos.  It was kind of funny to me because they were there to see the Capone house and ended up just taking photographs of the production crew and missing the whole point to a degree.  We are not gangsta’s.  What are you looking at?
